Square Terminal Credit Card Machine: Forgot to bring your Sunday envelop, cash or check book for the Sunday Mass. No problem. We have the Credit Card Machine in the Church available. You can simply enter the donation that you want to give, swipe, tap or insert your debit or credit card in the machine. It is an automatic withdrawal machine that is quite easy and convenient. You will get the receipt, or get a text to your phone or get the receipt to your email. It is available in the Church, or you can use for any purpose in the office, in the hall or for anything with regard to the Church activities. This a portable credit card machine that is an all-in-one device for accepting payments and printing receipts.
Red Buckets on Every Weekend Mass: From now on, at every weekend mass after the communion we will be passing the red buckets to collect any change and coins that you have brought along with you for the Mass. Remember Jesus noticed the poor widow’s donation of two coins in the Jerusalem Temple and praised her for that generous donation. Whatever you donate in the red buckets is a small way that you give for the building project. Please drop them in the red buckets.
Bringing Up the Offertory Gifts during Mass time: Bringing up the Offertory Gifts during the Mass is a very important liturgical part of the Mass. It is bringing the fruits of the earth and the work of human hands which is our human labour in the form of Bread and Wine together with the financial weekly offering that the people give out of their generosity. It is these gifts that we offer them up to the Lord so that what is offered is transformed into the Body and Blood of Christ and is given back to us as the spiritual food for our journey and nourishment. I would encourage the families to take turns in bringing these gifts during the Mass. If any family is willing to bring the gifts during the Mass, please inform the ushers at the back of the Church so that they know who is bringing the gifts and not to look for volunteers during the Offertory time. It would be good to see new faces every time to bring up the gifts. During the collection time, the willing family can walk up to the back of the church and get ready to bring the gifts. It usually takes three people to bring the gifts that are the bread, wine and the offertory basket. Please volunteer in bringing the gifts so we have an opportunity for everyone to participate in it. Thank You.
Parish Festival on October 9th at 5 pm Mass: Feast of Our Lady of Victory, the patron of our Parish. The Church celebrates the Feast of Our Lady of Rosary on October 7th. On this day, we celebrate the Holy Leagues defeat of the Ottoman Empire in the battle of Lepanto on October 7th, 1571. Even though the Turkish forces were very powerful, the Christians won due to the intercession of Mary and the prayer of the Most Holy Rosary. Our Lady of Victory is also called Our Lady of Rosary. Therefore, it is the Feast of our Parish. Since this year, it falls on Thursday, we all cannot come together to celebrate the same. And so, we will have the celebrations on October 9th, Saturday at 5 pm. We will have the procession with the statue of the Blessed Mother decorated from the Parish Hall to the Church reciting the Holy Rosary and on reaching the Church we will have the celebration of Holy Eucharist. Following the Eucharist, we will have a fellowship dinner served in the Parish Hall with all the Parish Organizations preparing the meals for everyone. The following is the Menu: German/Polish Sausage, Sauerkraut, potatoes and green beans (Knights of Columbus) Tacos, Fruit cups, Philly cheese steak (Ministerio Latino) Beef enchiladas and Chicken flautas (Charismatic Group) Please come and join us at these celebrations and make our Parish Festival very grand and festive. We look forward to seeing you all.
Blessings of Pets and Animals: On october 3rd at 4 pm there will be a blessing of all the animals and pets behind the parish hall grounds. St. Francis of Assisi, patron saint of Animals and Pets. Animals have a certain role to play in human existence by helping with work or providing food and clothing. All those who wish their animals or pets to be blessed are to gather at the back of the Parish Hall that is the play area or the playground on October 3rd Sunday, at 4:00 pm with all the animals on leash or well protected and attended. We wish to encourage all those who have pets to bring them for a blessing. We would love to see your pets and animals. Let there be peace on earth and on the grounds. I am also willing to bless the farms or ranches with appointments. Please call the parish office if you want your farm or ranches to be blessed.
